Description:

Methyl 1-methyl-2-pyrroleacetate is a pyrrole derivative that can be synthesized by the catalytic hydrogenation of methyl 1-(2-pyrrolyl)propanoate. This compound is a useful intermediate for the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds with different substituents. Methyl 1-methyl-2-pyrroleacetate has been used as a substrate for ruthenium and rhodium catalysts, and can be selectively hydrogenated with palladium on charcoal. The reactions are carried out in various solvents such as benzene, toluene, or chloroform.
