4-Chloro-1-hydrazinophthalazine is a pyridazine derivative with anti-cancer activity. It has minimal toxicity and exhibits unsymmetrical properties. The drug is used in chemotherapy to treat cancer, although it is not active against all types of cancers. 4-Chloro-1-hydrazinophthalazine inhibits the growth of colorectal carcinoma cells by inhibiting DNA synthesis and protein synthesis. This drug also inhibits the growth of human colon cancer cells, such as HCT116, by inhibiting tumor cell proliferation and inducing apoptosis (cell death).
