Product Information
4-Phenoxybutanamide is a potent and selective adenosine A1 receptor antagonist. It inhibits the binding of adenosine to the adenosine receptors, which are located in the central nervous system, heart and blood vessels. This inhibition leads to a decrease in sympathetic nerve activity and vasoconstriction. 4-Phenoxybutanamide has been shown to be both water soluble and insoluble in organic solvents. It has a high affinity for A1 receptors and can be used as an antihypertensive agent. The optimal temperature for this compound is between 20°C and 25°C, with irradiation yielding better product yields. 4-Phenoxybutanamide can be monitored by observing the profiles of alkylation products after it reacts with electron donors such as methylene blue or 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine.
