3,5-Bis(methoxymethyloxy)benzyl Alcohol is a phenolic compound that has been studied in clinical studies. It has been shown to inhibit the uptake of radiolabeled resveratrol and to have attenuating effects on fungal growth. 3,5-Bis(methoxymethyloxy)benzyl Alcohol has also been shown to be an inhibitor of the enzyme benzofuran reductase, which is responsible for the conversion of benzofurans into phytoalexins. 3,5-Bis(methoxymethyloxy)benzyl Alcohol has also been shown to have physiological effects in mice by reducing atherogenesis.
