Product Information

Name:
(R)-Aziridine-2-carboxylic acid
Description:

Aziridine-2-carboxylic acid is an imino compound with a carboxyl group and a hydrocarbon chain. It is also known as aralkyl, optically active, or carboxyl group. Aziridine-2-carboxylic acid has been shown to be effective in the treatment of bacterial infections and parasitic diseases. Aziridine-2-carboxylic acid can inhibit the growth of bacteria by binding to copper ions and blocking the formation of ATP, which is essential for cell division. The carboxyl group reacts with diethyl ether to form aziridinium ions, which are physiologically active in inhibiting protein synthesis. Structurally, this drug is similar to other compounds such as acetohydroxamic acid and ethoxycarbonylmethylenetriphenylphosphonium bromide.
