Product Information
3-Hydroxy-3-(2-oxocyclohexyl)indolin-2-one is an oxindole that belongs to the class of aldols. It is a chiral compound with a stereogenic center at C2 and can be synthesized in high yield using organocatalysts. Aldol reactions are used extensively in organic synthesis, and the stereoselectivity of this reaction is determined by the nature of the catalyst. 3-Hydroxy-3-(2-oxocyclohexyl)indolin-2-one has been found to be an anticonvulsant when administered orally to rats, which may be due to its ability to bind as a ligand to voltage gated sodium channels.
