Product Information
1-(2,4,6-Trimethylphenyl)ethan-1-amine is a chiral compound that has been synthesized as a ligand for the x-ray crystallography study of acidic solvents. It is an enantiopure stereoisomer of 1-(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)ethan-1-ol and is synthesized by chloroformate chemistry. The synthesis of 1-(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)ethan-1-amine was achieved by the reaction of 2,4,6-trimethylbenzaldehyde with ethyl amine in chloroformate to produce the amide. The compound has a chelate ring structure and contains two methyl groups on each nitrogen atom. The magnetic properties of this compound have also been studied.
