Description:
Efonidipine inhibits both L-type and T-type calcium channels, resulting in vasodilation and regulation of the cardiac pacing. Efonidipine is used as an antihypertensive and antianginal drug (Tanaka, 2002). Efonidipine has a dihydropyridine structure. In 2020, efonidipine has shown significant inhibitory activity on the main protease Mpro of SARS-CoV-2 with an IC50 of 38.5µM (Ghahremanpour, 2020).
