- 6-(Bromomethyl)Quinoline
6-(Bromomethyl)quinoline is a quinazolinone that is synthesized by reacting 5-nitroquinoline with bromine. It can be used as a fluorescent probe for nucleophilic interactions, such as the interaction between thymidylate and l1210. This compound has been shown to be bioreductive, meaning it can undergo redox reactions with reactive oxygen species (ROS). 6-(Bromomethyl)quinoline has also been shown to be a prodrug, which means it is metabolized into an active form in vivo. The active form of 6-(Bromomethyl)quinoline is 6-bromo-N4-hydroxy-N2 -methyl-2-(1H)-pyridone.
