Product Information
4-Iodo-1H-indole-3-carboxylic acid methyl ester is an organic compound. It is a colorless oil that boils at 170°C. This compound can be synthesized by reacting indole with methyllithium and bromoiodoethane in the presence of THF. The resulting product is then heated to produce the desired product. 4-Iodo-1H-indole-3-carboxylic acid methyl ester has been used to make isoquinoline derivatives, tetrahydropyridine derivatives, pyridines derivatives, and tetrahydropyridines derivatives from ergoline compounds. This process involves acylation of an organic compound with an acid chloride or acid anhydride in the presence of a base catalyst such as DMAP (4-(dimethylamino)pyridine).
