A-381393 is a 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) receptor antagonist that binds to the serotonin 5-HT1A receptor. It has been shown to be effective in treating autoimmune diseases, cancer, and drug addiction. A-381393 exhibits high affinity for the 5-HT1A receptor and potently inhibits the binding of serotonin to this receptor. This drug can also cause dyskinesia in animal models, but it does not affect dopamine or dopamine receptors. The effective dose of A-381393 for treatment of Parkinson's disease is 10 mg/kg.
