Product Information

Name:
7-Epi-10-oxo-10-deacetyl baccatin III
Description:

7-Epi-10-oxo-10-deacetyl baccatin III is a synthetic taxane analog that has been shown to have anticancer activity. It is an analogue of the natural baccatin III, which is found in the needles of the Pacific yew tree. This drug has been prepared by removing the acetyl group from 10-deacetyl baccatin III with hydrochloric acid and then reacting it with epichlorohydrin. 7-Epi-10-oxo-10-deacetyl baccatin III inhibits a wide variety of tumor cells in vitro and in vivo and also inhibits metastasis. It can be used as a potential anticancer drug or chemotherapeutic agent for cancer patients who are resistant to docetaxel or taxol.
