Product Information

Name:
2-(1,4-Dioxan-2-yl)ethanol
Description:

2-(1,4-Dioxan-2-yl)ethanol (2,2-diethoxyethanol) is a phenoxide that can be used as an additive in the manufacturing of paints and varnishes. It is also used as a solvent for cellulose acetate and nitrocellulose. 2,2-Diethoxyethanol has a molecular weight of 128.17 g/mol, with the chemical formula C6H10O3. This compound has two isomers: cis and trans. The cis form has a higher boiling point than the trans form and can be used to produce purified dioxane. The thermodynamic parameters for 2,2-diethoxyethanol are calculated by using the Gibbs free energy equation (ΔG°), which is -78.8 kJ/mol at 25°C and 1 atmosphere pressure. Kinetic parameters for this compound are calculated using the Arrhenius equation (A), which
