Product Information

Name:
(3R)-3-Amino-4,4,4-trifluorobutanoic acid
Description:

(3R)-3-Amino-4,4,4-trifluorobutanoic acid is a chiral amino acid that is used in the synthesis of (S)-2-(pyrrolidin-1-yl)propanoic acid. This compound can be synthesized by transamination and transfer reactions. The reaction rate of this compound is very slow. It has been shown that the enantiomeric ratio can be shifted to favor one enantiomer by adding an appropriate amount of methyl isopropyl ketone to the reaction mixture. This product also has stereochemical activity, which means it can rotate plane polarized light. The 3R form rotates plane polarized light clockwise and the 3S form rotates it counterclockwise.
