4,7-Dibromo-1H-1,2,3-benzotriazole is a peptidomimetic drug that binds to the transcription activator domain. It was designed to mimic the amino acid sequence of the peptide hormone erythropoietin by connecting two molecules with a linker. 4,7-Dibromo-1H-1,2,3-benzotriazole has been shown to inhibit cardiac hypertrophy and increase heart rate in rats. This compound also inhibits protein synthesis by binding to carbohydrate binding sites on ribosomes and preventing the release of newly synthesized proteins from ribosomes.
