Product Information
1-Chloro-2,4-bis(hexyloxy)benzene is a sensitizing agent for solar cells. It is used to convert light into electricity by generating an electron-hole pair in the semiconductor material when it absorbs photons. The electron and hole are generated at different regions of the semiconductor, which reduces recombination and increases efficiency. 1-Chloro-2,4-bis(hexyloxy)benzene is also used to improve the absorption of sunlight by solar cells, with a greater effect on the blue and green part of the spectrum than on red light. 1-Chloro-2,4-bis(hexyloxy)benzene can be synthesized from chlorobenzene and hexanol.
