Product Information
- acetamide, 2-chloro-N-[5-(methoxymethyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl]-
2-Chloro-N-(5-methoxymethyl-[1,3,4]thiadiazol-2-yl)-acetamide is an analog of the natural product 5-methoxy-[1,3,4]thiadiazole acetate. It has been found to be a potent inhibitor of sulfamoyl chloride hydrolase (EC 3.5.1.8) and carbonic anhydrase (EC 4.2.1.1). The inhibition constants for these enzymes were determined to be 2 x 10 M and 1 x 10 M respectively in vitro using purified enzymes and are both in the micromolar range in vivo following administration of the drug to mice bearing hypoxic tumors.
