Product Information

Name:
N-Acetyl-4-hydroxy-L-proline (cis- and trans- mixture)
Description:

N-Acetyl-4-hydroxy-L-proline is an active analogue of the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. It has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against microbial infection. N-Acetyl-4-hydroxy-L-proline also inhibits matrix metalloproteinases, which are enzymes that degrade extracellular matrix during inflammation. This protects the skin from injury and prevents scarring. N-Acetyl--4--hydroxy--L--proline has also been shown to inhibit the proliferation of skin cancer cells in a mouse skin model and to prevent the formation of protocatechuic acid, which is a byproduct of polyphenol metabolism in humans.
