Motolimod is a toll-like receptor modulator that inhibits the activity of TLR2 and TLR4. The drug has been shown to have antitumor activity in vivo, as well as cell lysis in vitro. In vivo, motolimod inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-6 and IL-1β. Motolimod also has anti-inflammatory properties and is currently being studied for its potential use in autoimmune diseases.
