Product Information
2-Chlorobenzamide oxime is a crystalline solid that is soluble in water and alcohol. It has a melting point of 118-120°C and a boiling point of 350-360°C. 2-Chlorobenzamide oxime reacts with benzene to form an ionic compound. This reaction can be reversed by adding ammonium chloride, which causes the reactants to separate into their original components. When 2-chlorobenzamide oxime is heated in contact with hydroxylamine, it forms an amidoxime product. The amidoximes are selective for benzene rings, whereas the imidazolium compounds react with both benzene and aromatic rings.
