Product Information
- [[5-(Pyridin-3-yl)thiophen-2-yl]methyl]amine
The ebola virus is a member of the family Filoviridae, which contains two genera: Marburg and Ebola. Ebolavirus is an enveloped virus with a filamentous morphology that causes fever and often fatal hemorrhagic fever in humans and other primates. The glycoprotein (GP) structure of the ebola virus consists of seven proteins: three structural proteins (VP24, VP35, and VP40) and four nonstructural proteins (sGP, NP, VP30, and L). Ebolavirus GP makes up approximately 80% of the virion's mass. It is responsible for mediating the attachment of ebola to host cells by binding to sialic acid on host cell surfaces. This protein also has anti-inflammatory properties that may be related to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
