Description:
(-)-Tetrabenazine-d3 is a synthetic enantiomer of tetrabenazine. It is an inhibitor of dopamine uptake and can be used in the treatment of Parkinson's disease. (-)-Tetrabenazine-d3 is a nucleophilic compound that binds to the dopamine transporter type 2 (DAT2) and inhibits its activity, which prevents the reuptake of dopamine from the synapse. This drug has been shown to be effective in reducing dyskinesias in animal models and humans with Parkinson's disease.
