N-[4-[(3-chloro-4-fluorophenyl)amino]-7-[3-methyl-3-(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-1-butyn-1-yl]-6-quinazolinyl]2,2′:6′,2″:6″,6′″-(tertiary butoxycarbonylamino)biphenyl (DG3178) is a novel small molecule that has shown the potential to inhibit tumor growth and progression in vivo. It is an inhibitor of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs), which are involved in the signaling of epidermal growth factor (EGF) and other growth factors. DG3178 inhibited tumor cell proliferation through inhibition of EGFR and HER2/neu receptor tyrosine kinases. In addition, it has been shown to induce regression in human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive breast cancer
