Product Information
Bis-mpa-COOH is a dendrimer that has been synthesized by reacting hydrogen peroxide with bis-MPAA, a molecule containing a central poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) core. The PAMAM core is made of repeating units of N,N'-bis(3-aminopropyl)-1,4-diaminobutane. The reaction between the two molecules produces a PAMAM dendrimer with a number of reactive groups on the periphery of the molecule. These groups can react with other molecules to form immunocomplexes and antibodies. Bis-MPAA is used as an adjuvant in human serum for antibody production and has been shown to increase the production of c-reactive protein (CRP). CRP is an acute phase protein that is released by hepatocytes in response to inflammation or infection. CRP binds to phosphocholine and phosphoserine residues on bacterial cell surfaces, forming
