Product Information

Name:
SIAIS178
Description:

Dasatinib is a molecule that is used to inhibit the activity of Bcr-Abl kinase. It has been shown to have a long-term effect on cancer cells in both K562 and Ba/F3 cells. Dasatinib inhibits the activity of the ubiquitin ligases involved in the proteasome pathway, which leads to apoptosis by preventing the degradation of proteins essential for cell growth and survival. Dasatinib also inhibits phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) and protein kinase C (PKC), which are involved in many cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, or adhesion. Dasatinib binds with high affinity to the ATP binding site at the ATP-binding domain of Bcr-Abl kinase and prevents ATP from binding to this site. This prevents phosphorylation of tyrosine residues on other proteins, thereby inhibiting their function.
