Description:

6-Chloro-3-indoxyl-beta-D-galactopyranoside is a plant origin fluorogenic substrate that is used as an enzyme substrate in biochemical or immunochemical tests. It reacts with the enzyme beta-galactosidase, which is found in certain bacteria and fungi, to produce a blue product. This product can be detected by its fluorescence or chemiluminescence properties. 6-Chloro-3-indoxyl-beta-D-galactopyranoside has been shown to be resistant to staining by some dyes, such as methylene blue, and can be used for the detection of beta galactosidase activity in environmental samples. It also has been shown to have high purity and high quality.
