AB-PINACA is an amide type synthetic cannabinoid that has been found in herbal products sold as 'legal highs'. AB-PINACA is a potent CB2 receptor agonist and weakly binds to the CB1 receptor. It also has low potency in vitro assays. In vivo, it induces locomotor activity and produces a matrix effect on the brain. AB-PINACA may cause drug interactions with other drugs because of its binding affinity for serum proteins.
