AMB-FUBINACA is a synthetic cannabinoid that is a potent agonist at the CB2 receptor. It is structurally similar to JWH-018 and AMB-PICA. The urine samples were analyzed by gas chromatography/time of flight mass spectrometry (GC/TOFMS) using an analytical method developed in our laboratory. The urine samples have been shown to contain AMB-FUBINACA and other synthetic cannabinoids with similar structures, such as ADB-FUBINACA and PB-22. These compounds are not found naturally in the body and their use has been associated with acute toxicities, including psychosis and seizures. Other pharmacokinetic properties such as half life, protein binding, metabolism, excretion rate, oral bioavailability have also been studied for these substances.
