Product Information
Endosulfan is a chlorinated insecticide that has been shown to be carcinogenic in vivo and in vitro. Endosulfan binds to the membrane of the cell and causes a disturbance in the function of the cell. It also inhibits RNA synthesis, which can lead to cell death. The binding of endosulfan to membranes is stereospecific and competitively inhibited by other compounds with similar structures. Endosulfan alcohol is not toxic for rats when ingested at dietary concentrations, but it does cause some toxic effects on plant cells.
