5-(N,N-Dimethyl)-amiloride-d6 hydrochloride is a diuretic that elevates the ventricular end-diastolic pressure and decreases biliary pressure by inhibiting sodium reabsorption. It has been shown to be effective in reducing inflammatory pain with no side effects. This drug also has been shown to be effective in increasing the uptake of amiloride analogs in rats. Clinical data from human subjects shows an increase in contractility following administration of 5-(N,N-Dimethyl)-amiloride-d6 hydrochloride.
