Description:
Trans-cyclohexane-1,3-dicarboxylic acid is a synthetic compound that belongs to the group of methylindoles. It is used as a catalyst in organic synthesis and has been shown to form hydrogen bonds with its ligands. Trans-cyclohexane-1,3-dicarboxylic acid has been synthesised by reacting cyclohexanecarbaldehyde with hydrochloric acid and hydrogen in the presence of copper as catalyst. The product can be purified by crystallization or recrystallization. Trans-cyclohexane-1,3-dicarboxylic acid can also be obtained from glyoxylate by catalysis.
