N,N-Diethyl-2-phenylacetamide is an organic compound with a hydroxyl group at the 2 position. It is used as an analytical standard in organic solutions. This chemical is found in heart tissue and has been shown to exhibit activity index levels of 0.5 - 4.0 µg/mL. N,N-Diethyl-2-phenylacetamide has not yet been tested for toxicity or carcinogenicity, but it is known to be toxic if ingested orally and may cause liver damage if inhaled. The chemical is also known to have pharmacological effects on the central nervous system, including sedation and narcosis.
