[(Pyridin-2-ylmethyl)-amino]-acetic acid (PA) is a molecule that can be found in human serum and is a substrate for myoglobin. PA has been shown to inhibit the uptake of PA by chromatographic methods. The active form of PA is carboxylate, which contains a carbonyl group that reacts with metal ions as well as immobilized metal catalysts. These reactions are homogeneous catalysts and produce an immobilized product with a mesoporous structure.
