Product Information
- Bis(benzoylmethyl) sulfide
- 2,2'-Sulfanediylbis(1-Phenylethanone)
Bis(benzoylmethyl) sulfide is an asymmetric synthesis that is derived from a sulfoxide and a phenacyl. The method is efficient, with the product being obtained in high yields. It can be used to synthesize chalcones and covalently immobilize sulfoxides onto polymers. Bis(benzoylmethyl) sulfide reacts with carbonyls and phenoxy groups to form a stable molecule with two reactive groups: a reactive sulfoxide group and a thermally labile carbonyl group.
