Chlorflurecol is a receptor-binding molecule that inhibits the transport of nutrients in plants. It binds to the capsicum annuum receptor and prevents the uptake of water, minerals, and other essential nutrients. Chlorflurecol has been shown to inhibit root formation in plants by binding to the histological analysis, which prevents cell division. Chlorflurecol also reduces dry weight and lipid biosynthesis in plants by inhibiting leaf protein synthesis and lipid production. This molecule also has a basic structure with a carbonyl group at one end and an apical group at the other end.
