Product Information
- 2-(2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-yliden)malononitrile
2-(2,3-Dihydro-1H-inden-1-ylidene)malononitrile is a colorant that reacts with keratinous substances. It is used as a coloring agent for polymers, plastics, and textiles. 2-(2,3-Dihydro-1H-inden-1-ylidene)malononitrile reacts with the hydroxyl group of styrene to form a reactive intermediate, which then reacts with amines and sulfonylamino groups in the presence of an acid. The product can be transferred to other polymers if it is dissolved in an alkoxycarbonylamino solvent.
