Trichloroethanimidamide is a reagent that inhibits the activity of proteases such as trypsin, chymotrypsin, and elastase. Trichloroethanimidamide has been shown to inhibit the production of amines and acylation in nonpolar solvents. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and can be used to treat inflammatory diseases such as asthma. This reagent can be used to study light emission from papillary muscle by reacting with chlorine atoms. Trichloroethanimidamide has also been shown to inhibit tumor growth in mice.
