2',5'-Dichloroacetanilide is a chlorobenzene that is synthesized from 2,5-dichloroaniline. It has an optimum temperature of 20°C and can be used as a fungicide for the control of plant diseases caused by fungi. The compound has been shown to have high activity against fungi such as Phytophthora infestans, Rhizoctonia solani, Pythium ultimum, and Botrytis cinerea. 2',5'-Dichloroacetanilide has been shown to have substituent effects on the activity of other compounds such as propanil. 2',5'-Dichloroacetanilide is an isomeric mix of two tautomeric forms with chlorine in the para position. The chemical identity of this molecule is still unknown due to its high reactivity when exposed to spectrometry or analysis by an algorithm.
