Product Information
N-Phenylpiperidine-1-carboxamide is a switchable dehydrative catalyst that is used in the synthesis of quinolines. It is made by reacting aniline with chloroacetic acid and then reacting this intermediate with ethyl acetoacetate. The product can be transformed into other compounds using catalysts, such as palladium on carbon. N-Phenylpiperidine-1-carboxamide has been used as a reactive and nonprecious organometallic compound in transition metal catalysis for the synthesis of quinolines. It is also used in dehydrogenative coupling reactions to produce benzaldehyde from benzal chloride and methanol.
