This compound has been shown to hydrogenate in the presence of palladium on carbon and form 2,6-dichlorobenzonitrile. N,N-Diethyl-2-fluoro-4-nitroaniline can also be used for the synthesis of various derivatives such as fluoro-, hydroxymethyl-, and dimethylamino-.
