Sec-pentylbenzene is a low-molecular weight organogel that is composed of aliphatic hydrocarbons. The structure of sec-pentylbenzene is reversible, with gelation occurring at low temperatures and solubility increasing as the temperature increases. Sec-pentylbenzene has been shown to form x-ray diffraction patterns in the range of 8° to 18° using cycle methods. It also shows strong peaks in the region of 20° to 30°. This product can be used in microscopy and spectroscopy experiments.
