5-Ethyl-2-methoxyphenol is a chemical compound that belongs to the phenylacetonitrile family. It has been found to produce an increase in noradrenaline levels in diabetic patients. 5-Ethyl-2-methoxyphenol has been shown to have antioxidant properties and can be used as a silicon substitute for glass. The polymorphism of this compound has been studied in populations with different morphometric measurements, such as height and weight. 5-Ethyl-2-methoxyphenol also has insecticidal properties and can be used as a cyclic insecticide. Studies have shown that 5-Ethyl-2-methoxyphenol is more potent on insects at low doses, but less potent at high doses.
