Product Information
Dimethyl 1H-pyrrole-2,3-dicarboxylate (DMPD) is an indolocarbazole compound that exhibits apoptotic activities. DMPD has been shown to induce apoptosis in cancer cells by inhibiting the synthesis of fatty acids and the activation of protein kinase C. DMPD also has sustainable apoptotic effects in virus-infected cells. The mechanism of DMPD's apoptotic activity may involve its ability to inhibit DNA synthesis, which leads to cell death through a process called necrosis. DMPD can be produced from etoac extract, and the yield of this reaction can be increased by using lycogarubin as a catalyst. The reaction time for the conversion of etoac extract into DMPD is around 24 hours at room temperature when using solvents such as chloroform or dichloromethane.
