Description:

1-Amino-2-naphthol is a chemical reagent that has been shown to be effective in wastewater treatment. It is used in the assays for potential biomarkers and can be used as an alternative to sulphanilic acid. 1-Amino-2-naphthol is also considered to be a reactive compound with a hydroxy group that can act as a nucleophile in the formation of amines. When sulfonated, it also reacts with amines to form sulfonic acids. These reactions are catalyzed by sodium carbonate, which generates hydrogen ions and carbon dioxide gas. 1-Amino-2-naphthol can also be used in nanotube synthesis, where it acts as a catalyst for the reaction between hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide. This chemical reagent may play an important role in the reaction mechanism of the synthesis of nanotubes.
