Description

Hyodeoxycholic acid methyl ester is a synthetic, broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent that is effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It inhibits the growth of cancer cells by modulating cell function, including antigen presentation. The hydroxyl group of hyodeoxycholic acid methyl ester reacts with the aldol cyclization to form an aldol product, which can then be used in the synthesis of various drugs. This drug has been shown to inhibit inflammatory bowel disease and leukemia cells.
