3-ethyl-3-azatricyclo[7.3.1.0 µ,¹³]trideca-1(13),5,7,9,11-pentaene-2,4-dione is a hydrophobic molecule that interacts with lipids and has an inhibitory effect on the activity of CYP3A4 enzymes. It inhibits the metabolism of drugs by binding to cytochrome P450 enzymes in the liver and competitively inhibiting their enzyme activity.
