2,6-DIISOPROPYL-N,N-DIMETHYLANILINE is a fluorescent probe that can be used to measure redox potentials. It is excited by visible light and emits light at wavelengths longer than 400 nm in the red region of the spectrum. 2,6-DIISOPROPYL-N,N-DIMETHYLANILINE can be used in kinetic studies because it has a high fluorescence quantum yield. The anilines that are present in this compound are electron deficient and reactive with many other compounds. This fluorescence probe reacts with thioxanthone and other compounds to form fluorescent radicals that emit light at wavelengths longer than 400 nm in the red region of the spectrum.
