1,1-Di(p-tolyl)ethylene (DPTE) is a radical scavenger that can be used to prevent or reduce the effects of oxidative damage. It has been shown to scavenge radicals and crosslink acrylate monomers, leading to a decrease in radical scavenging activity. DPTE also has been shown to have a scavenging effect on atropate radicals and thermally induced radicals.
