Product Information

Name:
Diethyl 4-fluorophenyl malonate
Description:

Diethyl 4-fluorophenyl malonate (DFPM) is a chemical that belongs to the class of halides. It is an acidic compound with a pKa of 1.5. DFPM has been shown to be an effective antimicrobial peptide, which can inhibit gramicidin production by gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis. DFPM also has been shown to have antifungal properties in the form of dichroism, cyanides, and antimicrobial activity against some fungi such as Candida albicans and Candida tropicalis. The molecular modeling of DFPM has revealed that it conforms to two stereoisomers, with the cis conformation being more stable than the trans conformation.
