Product Information
Methyl 2-(4-bromo-3-nitrophenyl)acetate is a serotonin transporter (SERT) ligand. It has been shown to inhibit the binding of serotonin and dopamine to rat brain transporters in vitro. Methyl 2-(4-bromo-3-nitrophenyl)acetate has also been shown to bind to the serotonin transporter at high concentrations, but not at low concentrations. This suggests that it may be a good candidate for labeling with positron emission tomography (PET). The binding affinity of this compound was found to be similar to that of many other SERT ligands, but its selectivity was lower.
